The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.
The Test Score Rating reflects annual state test results for this school compared with scores statewide.

I enjoyed spending my High School years at Newton. Newton gave me many opportunities to improve my education and get ready for college. They also Gave class options for College Credits. Newton schools teachers are always willing to help and do their best to teach. I am grateful for the opportunity to go to school there.

i moved to newton a few years ago and I feel like the newton system is unfair you can tell what teachers have favorites and once they found someone to target they just keep coming at you I had a teacher that would sneak in the bathroom and stand there because she'd think we talked about her and we caught her one day and she came up with we were vaping in the bathroom when we had nothing on us and she would tell the students we vaped so there would always be problems to the point where i changed schools.

I love how all our classes are pretty small, and the teachers all care. They do what they have to in order to help students succeed. They also know how to push people out of their comfort zone and learn new skills to be better throughout their lives. If I could change anything I would make more activities and clubs for kids to get involved with
I graduated nearly 50 years ago, and with the strong fundamentals I got at NHS I have had a very successful career in health care helping thousands of people. I know the school has changed as has the town, but quality has always been a priority at NHS.
