GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

I enjoy attending Newton High school. The lunches are just not ideal as to the other lunches at the middle and elementary, there's a big difference between them. There's many sports here but not a lot, mostly the common ones like basketball, volleyball, track, ect.

Newton High School has taught and is still teaching me to be college and career ready. It's getting me ready to branch out into the real world. We have the best team of teachers on board that loves and cares for us like we are their own children.

My experience was good. I had a lot of personal issues going on at home. I always had a person to go when I needed someone to talk to or give me advice on. I like how the teachers care about you and wants you to succeed in life. Most teachers would pass you just to get rid of you, but the teachers here at Newton High School care about you and your education. Two things I would like for Newton High School to change is the teachers need to be more prepared of themselves before they teach the students and go more into depth with information. The second thing is the teachers need to teach the students to be prepared for college and the outside world.

I see the ratings on this school are old. Don't believe the positive ratings on this site. This is truely an awful school system just look at their test scores on the Mississippi education department website they speak for themselves. Too bad I can't give it 0 stars.

I left this school 2 years ago and i've never been happier! This school is full of misbehaving idiots and the teachers cannot control them. When I went to school here i felt like i was in prison other than a school. Now I have graduated and recieved a scholarship. I never would have succeeded at any...
