GreatSchools Rating

GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Johnsburg is a small school and one thing I really liked was that with it being small, everyone had the opportunity to do the things they wanted. If you wanted to play a sport, you didn't have to try out to make it on the team because the small number of students. I would choose this school again if I could do it all over again because I like being in a small school and it was easier to make friends.

There are a variety of extracurricular activities that any student in grades ninth through twelfth grade can do. There is a yearbook class in which students make the school yearbook and there are several others that you can join. The clubs and organizations are fun and you learn different skills that are important.

Some of the teachers go above and beyond to help their students, while others not so much. There are a couple teachers that just do the teaching that they have to do in the classroom and don't offer to help the student outside of the class time.

JCS is by far the worst school in this area, but unfortunately it happens to be the only one available in the district. Many families in the to...

I'm very thankful to have grown up at JCS where I know I will always have the support of my teachers. JCS has inspired me to become a teacher, the love that the t...

They should get better school lunches and more choices. Taxes are way to expensive. They should also get more academic programs. Some teachers are not very good.
