GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Northside High School is one big family. We look after each other and always have each other's back. Northside is on a small community in Alabama. It's the kind of place that the community every aspect of the school-the sports, the academics, the band and choir. Northside is a special place to call home. I'm thankful that it has been my home.

I have enjoyed my experience at NHS. I had opportunities to succeed academically and athletically. I was able to enroll in dual enrollment and AP courses. If I had to cha ge one thing, it would be for career tech class opportunities to be more readily available for students who are also athletes.

I love how everyone can get along with any person at this school. If you need help then there's someone always there to offer it. What I would like to see change in this school though is diversity and culture. We need more of it!

This is the most awesome school around. Great teachers, very resourceful, always make learning interesting for our child. This school was the main reason we bought a home in this area. Great football team, the best band director, Mr. Milton Powell, and a great group of people handing the boosters. I...

Northside HIgh School, Northport, AL is the only school in Northport I would want my child in. The school is one of the "FEW" in the state that you don't have armed police or guards! The students have more freedom then in most schools because the kids who attend the school are all trustworthy and ba...

Northside High School is a great school, with only a few exceptions, the first being the placement of the importance of athletics before academics. Athletes are frequently excused from class and absolved from any wrongdoings because it would make the football, baseball, basketball, etc. team suffer....

The school does not push the children to think outside the box. Itis very happy to be a average school and it is that way in everything from academics to sports, so sad.
