GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

NHS provides a movie-like expereience. The school spirit is strong and there's something for everyone, whether it be sports, the specialized programs of MSA (Marin School of the Arts), or the variety of student-led clubs. However, I think that we deserve more private bathrooms and abundant classroom resources.

The culture of this school is my favorite part about it. The MSA, or Marin School of the Arts, program within this school means a lot more added diversity and acceptance. I've never had a bad problem with bullying or homophobia, which is great.

It's a great school that invests in its art programs. There is a lack of STEM focused courses. I have had bad experiences with some teachers but had just as many good experiences.

The MSA program is pretty good though and most people are nice. My teachers have not been understanding about my ADHD though. All my t...

In eighth grade I submitted an intradistrict transfer to Novato high coming from San Marin for the MSA program. I can safely say it was one of the best decisions of my life. I absolutely love the accepting, kind, and inclusive environment where I constantly feel pushed to do my best. I still have ma...
