Messalonskee High School like any high school has its ups and downs. The best part of it is those certain teachers who really care about thier jobs and helping students reach thier goals. Unfortuently the biggest problem is the willingness to change. There have been leaps and bounds to help trans students in the past years but ofton times administators are to fearful of parent backlash. This paired with another issue of constently hireing teachers who do not know how to do parts of thier jobs and must rely on student help is difficult. I will state it is getting better. Change is slowly being brought and most of the time those teachers who care outway the ones who don't know what they are doing.

I transferred to Messalonskee for my junior year. I found a more competitive sports environment with better coaches. The academics are challenging and there are a lot of class options.

Messalonskee is a very good High School that allows students to chose from a variety of courses depending on their academic ability. The teachers are for the most part great and classes remain very small for individualized learning
