We were privileged to be in the Okemos School District. My daughter received an excellent education from 3rd to 12th grade. The OHS music program is one of the best in the state of Michigan. One issue, however, was that only one counselor was available for over 450 senior students. Consequently, her time was limited, and we would have liked to receive more assistance with college admissions.

My overall experience at Okemos High School has been great. I love the student population, the diversity, the wide variety of experiences and cultures that bring us together. I love the clubs we have at the school (we keep getting new ones, too). The teachers are very qualified and nice for the most part, and our facilities and resources are on point. Our sports are good, though not excellent, and lastly, the food at our school is adequate (couldn't be better, but has improved a little).

The teachers are always very nice, and the classes offered are unlike any others you'd find. The support for kids who need more assistance is also great. Our principal is a really caring and professionally casual individual, to top it all off.

Overall I would say as a minority who has had two children go through Okemos School I would do it again. My son struggles with math and his junior high math teacher has been tutoring him since he entered high school. I would say 90% of the teachers are amazing and love what they do, but 10% should r...

A nightmare. It is not diverse. It desperately needs male teachers and teachers of color

My daughter has grown as a student, and as a person in Okemos schools. She is near the top of her class academically and enjoys extra circular activities in and out of school. As a parent I would recommend Okemos schools to any parent looking to give their child a head start on college.

I went to Willow Elementary...and Otto Middle School. When I transferred to Okemos, needless to say it was a challenge. However, the teachers are amazing. I graduated with a 3.85 despite having to “Catch up”. I feel like the staff was well above average in their concern for students’ success. Amazin...
