GreatSchools Rating

GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

i would like to see teachers and guidance counselors caring about their students more. some teachers that I know are very helpful and i feel as if i can go to them and talk to them when im having a bad day, others i feel as though i want to hide in a corner and not talk to anyone because they dont care or they dont want to help with anything. not everyone is bad, but there are some that just dont care about their students or what is going on to make them have the grades that they do or the attitude towards them that they do. some do not want to make sure that students succeed they just want to get through the day. yes they are normal people that have lives, but students are too. help should be offered to everyone, not just the ones who are considered "star students" and if someone is clearly struggling, they should be helped instead of just making them feel as if they are alone in everything.

It was good while I was there, shame I couldn't take some of the classes I wanted. I really wanted to take AP physics but all my peers dropped out so I couldn't take it for some reason since the class would be too small but I saw even smaller classes for other subjects.

My favorite part of Oxford High School is definitely the teachers. They are sweet, caring, and understanding of anyone from any background. The classes are alright and I wish they had more fun, interactive lessons but by far the teachers are the nicest. Of course, there are some bad teachers too but for the most part they're all very nice and caring and I really like that about Oxford.

Coming from a parent, I believe the school is providing the students of Oxford with opportunities to excel given the large number of honor classes, extracurricular activities, and an outstanding JNROTC program.
