My experience at P.S 161 was overall a great experience because the teachers and faculty were able to give me the necessary tools and guidance needed to accelerate and prosper in my education. As a former student, it was necessary to receive the support I did from my teachers because they are the ones who play a key factor in a child's development. What a child learns in their elementary schooling essentially sets them up with the knowledge that they keep with them for the rest of their lives.

I attended this school since Kindergarten but somethings that went on were so minuscule to the real issues and like most authorities, they dwell on the bad and not the god so the environment with staff and students were not so well.

i absolutely regret sending my child here. This school is run like a zoo and the students run wild. The principal shows how much he is not in control nor does je tru to get a handle on things when they get out of hand. I'm sure my child could have gotten a better education at another school. Most of the teachers are good but some of them needs to stay home or go and work with adults who will curse them out. The principal is the best though.

My daughter is in the 2 nd grade now at this school. She started with the gifted and talented program in kindergarten.
