Palmetto High School’s campus tells the story of its past and present – with a few of the original 1957 buildings among the approximately 70 structures. But many of its classes, such as robotics and digital information technology, look to the future. The school’s curriculum varies to serve the needs and interests of all its students. College-bound honors students can take part in the Cambridge Assessment International Education program, a rigorous academic course of study that is recognized worldwide. Those who plan to enter the workforce immediately after graduating may prefer the career and technical education track. Palmetto High also has a performing and visual arts department that guides and molds budding studio artists, actors, TV producers and musicians. Future farmers can prepare for a life in agriculture with classes like animal science and horticulture. An active schedule of extracurricular activities ranges from service clubs and student government to the chess club and the student newspaper, the Prowl. The school’s athletic department is busy throughout the year, with teams known as the Tigers competing in sports like basketball, softball, tennis, football, weightlifting, and swimming and diving. Whether they’re coming together to cheer on their classmates or to serve their community, the Palmetto Tigers are proud of their school!

Palmetto high school is very inclusive and an interesting place to be but bullying is a problem there and staff isn't the best at helping their students. However the academics are decent for normal classes but for the AICE students they definitely get more attention and help. When it comes to the Spanish speaking students they definitely get less help than others and are expected to just know how to do assignments without proper help.

You meet a lot of new people or people that you may have seen before. The school prepares you for your years coming up which is amazing you meet a lot of amazing and rude people but that is okay. The clubs are very fun and interesting and also very enjoyable.

I moved from DC to Palmetto. I had previously attended very good schools, 2 in fact. When I came to Palmetto, I was in my senior year. I was in AP classes and immediately noticed a grift. I was reading books in AP English in 12th grade that I had read in 6th grade. They were very far behind my other...
