Many Pflugerville residents still recall their years at Pflugerville Elementary with great fondness. That’s because the school’s been welcoming students from pre-kindergarten through fifth grade for over 40 years. When the school opened in 1978, it was one of only three elementary schools in the district. Today, there are more than 20.
With a student-teacher ratio of 13-to-1, students receive lots of individualized attention. Teachers and parents work together to make sure students have a strong foundation in reading, math, science and social studies. They also practice mindfulness — learning to stretch and breathe to help them focus. As a result of these measures, the school’s standardized test scores are above statewide averages.
Pflugerville Elementary “Pfireants” – as students are known – are as busy and industrious as their mascot suggests. Extracurricular activities, such as an annual chess tournament, teach students to think several moves ahead. With special nights devoted to diversity, math and science, art, and literacy, students have numerous opportunities to showcase their achievements. The school’s yearly sock hop and fall festival are pure “pfun.”
For many years, the school has been inspiring students to love learning. It’s a trusted source of elementary education in the Pflugerville area.

Unfortunately, this school and district are not Safe for students. My child was bullied by a student, and physically assaulted on multiple occasions. Both my boys like it at this school. The Principals Antoine and Ortiz are very good. My youngest was lucky to have Ms.Law as his first grade teacher. She is a great teacher in every way. She is organized, effective and goes above and beyond what we expected. Both our Boys want to stay at this school...

Very good school. My daughter has attended for 4 years going on 5th year and I have been very pleased with teachers and principal. They do such a good job with everyone, makes me happy and proud to be a parent of a child who attends Pflugerville Elementary.

Our kids are doing great at PES, Excellent teachers, Excellent,Special Ed team, Ms. Antoine and Mr. Ortiz bring great balance to the school. The after schools clubs are awesome. I wish that more parents were interested in getting involved with the PTO.
