It did not matter that there were two security guards at the school students were bullied on a regular and even by some teachers on a regular. The nurses did not have any real skills or interactions with the students you never felt like the nurse help you with anything when you were sick. I don't know of any resources because we were never told about any of them. I'd never felt safe. I just stayed away from many students as I possibly could.

The school has not been upgraded in many years. It still have all the old admities from the past. It look like any early 1970 school. We never had assess to any new books or computers. I mean we were always told that our school did not have the budget to get any new equipment at all because of the school board cut backs.

Members of the Mt. Airy Neighbors and the Mt. Airy East/West Coalition are extremely active in the school community. They have provided the school and its students with technology, reading, math and science materials, equipment and training. Emlen is turning more into a "Community Based" school even...
