Near the Camelback Corridor in the Biltmore neighborhood, Madison Camelview Elementary is a public school serving more than 550 children in pre-kindergarten through fourth grade as part of the Madison School District.
At this A+ School of Excellence, the faculty believe in an ever-changing world where anyone can lead, learn, and inspire. With that sentiment in mind, they strive to teach mindfulness to help every student develop socially, emotionally, and physically.
With a curriculum rooted in science, technology, engineering, arts, and math, students learn through project-based and hands-on lessons. The teachers use Spalding Phonics, Wonders Reading, My Math, Inspire Science, and Thinking Maps to fuel their progress. In addition, students take daily classes in special areas including art, P.E., music, or coding.
Madison Camelview also instills STEAM into its extracurriculars, where students can design games and apps in Coding Club, learn energy and environmental literacy in the Green Team/Energy Club, or build and program robots in Robotics Club, just for starters.
To keep students active before and after school, the district’s Madison Adventure Club (MAC) provides supervised homework time, unstructured play, arts and crafts, board games, cooking, and extra computer time.
In and out of class, Madison Camelview offers opportunities to help fuel a growth mindset.
