Only a mile north of the base of South Mountain, South Pointe High School is tuition-free public charter school serving about 500 students in ninth through twelfth grades in the South Phoenix area. The school is AdvancED accredited and follows standards for public schools set by the Arizona Department of Education.
With a mission to prepare students for college and careers, South Pointe begins by promoting core values of service, teamwork, leadership, integrity, and accountability. To help everyone learn at their best pace, students can choose from standard, scholastic, or honors tracks of classes in language arts, mathematics, and science.
Outside of the classroom, students can also pursue their own interests in a wide range of extracurriculars and activities, from the service-oriented National Honors Society and Junior Reserve Officer’s Training Corp to more social and creative interests, including an anime and art club, a K-pop club, Pride+, and yearbook, among others.
The more athletic set can build team spirit as South Point Griffins in a number of school sports, including baseball, cross country, dance team football, boys’ basketball, girls’ basketball, girls’ volleyball, cheer team, dance team, and track and field.
As for other notable programs, South Pointe offers an English Language Learners (ELL) program, special education services, and a free breakfast and lunch program.

Junior year was, eventful. I became President of my schools cooking club, and will continue being so until I graduate my senior year, which is next year. I started doing community service, and I got a Job, which im using to Save up for either a Car or For after high school. worst parts, I don't think there were any, there were some fights, but none that were dangerous, as security stepped in and stopped the teens from fighting. There was also 2 kids who died before school started in august, one of which was my friend, he played football and I practiced with him. when school started I was devastated that he died, and the whole entire team decided to try to win for him, despite not winning we still keep him in our memories. Other than that, 'about it. the school I go to is an A rated school, the teachers are so nice and they really try to help you and understand you, they try to work with you if you need help.

My experience at south pointe high school has been an absolute blast. I have gain so much potential and problem solving skills over the years attending this highly school. I have overcame so many obstacles and challenges that I never thought I would overcome. I have been academically challenged and I'm grateful and blessed that it has made me an smarter individual.

The staff was always friendly and helpful.The teachers really cared for their students and wanted to actually help them in anyway the could. They have lots of clubs and you can make a new one if you want. The college career teacher is very helpful and gives you multiple resources to help you. They the principal really cares for his student and like to talk to them and id always walking around campus talking to everyone .
