GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Disclaimer: Irondale, not Pleasant Grove] I've been at JCIB High school for 2 years now, and I'm going into the Diploma Programme next year. But honestly, it's been a huge debate for me. The culture at IB is redeemed by the students being really friendly and kind, but admin doesn't seem to care about mental health at all. Besides field days and events held by stuco, most of the fun events and sports are at Shades Valley. JCIB has few sports and clubs due to us being such a small school. Be warned: the stress culture here is REAL. I said that the kindness of other students is redeeming, but at times it can be outweighed by seeing how overworked and exhausted everyone around you is. JCIB provides an excellent education and if you love academic rigor, you'll love it, but it's really easy to get burnt out and exhausted. Regardless, it's been a very valuable experience for me so far. I've learned a ton, and I recommend it to anyone who has a passion for learning and excellence. :)

I think I regret going to this school and will probably regret finishing my last years here. I was doomed for failure, in the way of not having good mental health, work habits, or a real view. I am thoroughly convinced that the employees, no, the workers here, including the higher-ups, either can't...

My child has been at JCIB for a year and a half. I am a fairly involved parent that monitors coursework. In all honesty, the teachers are simply passing the students. There is no accountability for late assignments or for the quality of work. It has actually made my child very lazy, because she know...

It is very restrictive and strict. You cannot have your phone or anything during the school day. But this ensures no distractions and maximum safety. I personally don’t favor it and feel it’s quite lame… You’ll get used to it though.
