Poolesville High School is a unique magnet school with four different programs that make up the student body. Students come from all over the county and creates a decent amount of diversity to the school. The staff is very supportive and there are a variety of classes for students to explore their interests.

STEM is king here. Arts are an afterthought. There are no theater classes. There is one section of chorus and students often can not take it because of required block schedule conflicts.

I had a great overall experience at Poolesville High School. The teachers were knowledgeable and supportive, the extracurricular activities were diverse and engaging, and the sense of community was strong. I particularly enjoyed the challenging academic environment and the leadership and personal growth opportunities.

The best school in MCPS and Maryland for academically talented students. A very low pressure environment and the rural isolation of the school prevents bad elements from being present around the students. My magnet student is very happy and even with the hour long commute daily loves going to school...

a solid 4/10. the peple here are cool or whatever but like... this school focuses more on turning in assignments than the students' mental health.

Very, very good. It's greatest asset is its superior teaching staff. Any student lucky enough to get through the highly selective admission process to go to Poolesville is lucky indeed.
