Portals High is a rather good school with a great staff. The teachers I have had in my experience work with there students well and are very patient. Other faculty members at PHS are welcoming to the school. PHS is very hands on with lots of events for the student to participate in, and even more for the seniors that are getting ready to go off to collage.

Portales High School is among the best schools I've ever attended. I have lived all over West Texas and in Portales, so I have a decent handful of experiences. I have seen people graduate from Portales High and go on to do big things. Being a student of the arts, I am a bit hurt when all the money raised for the band goes straight to athletics, and I wish to see that change.

It is great! We really are one big family! Being part of the ram fam is really all you could ask for. Although academics are no considered great the teachers excel at their jobs.

Less than average, but not bad. Other, smaller schools in the area may offer a more specialized experience.

Most of the teachers are excellent, the principal is a good leader and is fair to the kids, the privilages that come with going to the school are fantastic, and switching to this school from Elida schools was the best decision I have ever made.

I also went to this school, as well I have graduated one child from PHS and have another in her Junior year. The entire Portales Public School System is overrun with favioratetism, preferencial treatment, and graft. The System is all about the System. We have not in 20 years had a sizable increese i...
