GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

My experience at Wilson High School has had ups and downs but overall the school has prepared me for college and more importantly it has allowed me to connect with people I will never forget. Whether it be teachers, students, or students from other schools, this school has cultured my friendships and connections.

I have had a good time at my high school, however, if I have to judge it from a critical point of view, my school is not amazing. Many kids are out of control and do not go to class at all- the security guards rarely even actally get kids to class. The administration is ok, however due to so many kids acting up, there is not much they can do, and at times they seem like figureheads. Most of the teachers are pretty great, so I do not have a lot of complaints there- I would say they are the best part of the school. I love many of my peers, but some of them are a bit difficult to deal with on a daily basis. As a very academically drive student, it can be hard to focus on the material at times, which can be difficult. And lastly, my school's building is in desperate need for renovation, and is practically a hazard at this point.

Wilson High school has some amazing teachers and the peers I am close to are very kind and wonderful people. However the school is falling apart- the facilities are terrible, there's asbestos in the ceiling, there are pipes leaking constantly. It's simply not a great environment to be learning in.

I am currently a freshman at Ida B. Wells. So far, my experience has been good, and it has definitely been my best school experience. So far, IBW has been the one to accomodate me with my 504 plan the best. Most teachers I know also allow students to listen to music while doing work, which is one of...

One standout feature is the school's prioritization of mental health. This is an important aspect of education that is often overlooked, and its great to see a school taking steps to support their students in this way. It suggests that the school values the well-being of their students and recognize...

Went here for my freshman year, it's an interesting school with ups and downs. You just have to stick with the right people. This school validates mental health issues and low income students in my opinion. Most teachers are great and the school is well funded with some really fun classes. It needs...
