Does an excellent job at preparing college-bound students. Elective and club options could be more diverse; not as many options for things like extracurriculars and languages as a public school. Student well-being is largely placed in the hands of the family, but students who work hard to prioritize their mental health and school-life balance will succeed.

I appreciate that the BASIS curriculum is so rigorous and challenging. It was refreshing to come from public school where academics were not valued to BASIS where I was pushed to do my best. I think that BASIS should put a bigger emphasis on mental health, though. A school with such intense academics should create an environment where students feel welcome to better their mental health via counselors or other means.

The entire school is a clique. They will force out anyone who doesn’t support their narrow focus. They start with over 35 kids in a kindergarten class and push out all that are not above level.
