Judy Rucker Elementary School is a highly ranked public school at 402 S Craig Road in Prosper, Texas. The school serves students from pre-kindergarten through fifth grade, with one teacher for every 14 students. Originally named Prosper Elementary, along with the growth and expansion of the school, the school was named after long-time educator Judy Rucker. Mrs. Rucker served as the school principal for eight years out of the fourteen she spent with Prosper ISD. Clocking a total of 32 years as an educator before retirement, the school proudly honors Judy Rucker as their namesake taking her dedication to students to heart.
Rucker Elementary honors the mission of Prosper Independent School District, “Grounded in Tradition, Souring to New Beginnings,” by creating a robust learning environment. The school supports community engagement and parental involvement with programs such as Literacy Night, Cultural and Heritage Night, and Rucker Tailgate connecting the students to their community.
The students are greeted daily by beautiful classrooms and amenities such as two separate and beautiful fenced-in playgrounds with modern equipment for each age group. A climbing wall, swings, and slides are available in ample open areas for play during recess and include shaded pavilions for rest nearby. Along with excellent academics, the students have plenty of opportunities to engage in sports. Well-lit baseball, football, and soccer fields surround the school. These spirited students yell “Rucker Rocks” as they cheer on their Eagles to victory in sports and academics!

Great school with great teachers and leadership! We had moved a few times over the past 7 years and have been in a few different districts and even different states. I am so thankful my son does not have to go to this school for lots of reasons but my main reason is the Principle and Asst Principal are bullies! They do not have the best interest of your child!! I have never been so disrespected for no reason whatsoever but the way they treated my 8 year old son...

Wonderful school with contest programs to help children learn. Make it easily available for parents to get involved and help children. The principal is always out in the hallway and in the front to welcome all the students.
