The enrollment has remained constant at a little above 500; however, the school has recently hired more teachers, and currently has an average student-to-teacher ratio of 12-to-1. This ratio has contributed to the school’s recent improvements, as pupils are now able to receive individualized assistance if needed. Today, PS/IS 295 academic indicators surpass most schools in the New York City public school system. More students at PS/IS 295 take or are on track to take algebra 1, a high school math course normally taught in ninth grade, than at other public schools. It was horrible the teachers don't give you a chance to participate they always think they know everything but when they make a mistake hmm... like all of them do they don't let you point it out. They also give you bad grades purposely. They don't care if your depressed or not.

I'm so happy my son got into this school. It is very difficult to get into grade 6., and the other grades are only for zoned children. The principal and staff are all about students learning their very best to be prepared for high school and the future. My husband and I love it!
