My experience at Barlow was excellent and I really felt welcome within the community and was able to be very challenged throughout my academic career

Minorities are targeted and not treated fairly or equally by staff. The education is not as strong as it once was. Bullying happens frequently as well as underage drinking and raping in the bathrooms. Facilities could use an upgrade as well.

My experience has been great especially with teachers as they will always go out of there way to help you succeed. When ever I was struggling or in need of help they were always willing to help with the problem. We also have math and writing centers which are also very helpful as-well. The school spirit is definitely there and people get along nicely. Also being apart of sports teams offered great connections and helped improve your over all self. The only thing I would change about my school is that it is fairly out dated. This includes having water fountains that you can not drink out of because they taste horrible. Also the food is not very good.

Great school. Academics are strong and kids are well prepared for college. Classes are small and teachers know all the students. It’s a small school so everyone knows each other though more diversity would be good.

National ranking is not impressive. Testing scores are low. Lots of bullying and hard drinking at this school as there isn't much of an outlet for boredom in the town.

The school test scores and proficiency rates are embarrassing for this region. The administration needs to do what it can to make our schools better and handle the difficult bullying problems. Joel Barlow is not as rigorous as it once was. The town needs to fix the schools to stay competitive with nearby towns.
