Jess Harben Elementary School is a Richardson Independent School District public school. The school serves students in prekindergarten through sixth grade. Harben Elementary is located near downtown Richardson, off South Glennville Drive. Harben Elementary is a recognized campus and has been designated as an Exemplary School by the Texas Education Agency. The curriculum is based on the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills standards. Students take core courses as well as music and art classes. Beginning in the third grade, students have the ability to go on annual field trips that celebrate the arts. The district participates in the Coordinated School Health initiative. Through this initiative, students at Harben Elementary take health and physical education classes. The aim of these classes is to teach children how to live an active and healthy lifestyle. The school has an active Parent Teacher Association. The group supports teachers and students by providing resources and sponsoring events throughout the school year. Students and parents look forward to the annual Change Challenge and Raise Craze fundraisers. The school mascot is the Harben Hawks, and the school colors are green and yellow. Upon the completion of elementary school, students will continue their education at one of the junior high schools in the Berkner Learning Community feeder pattern.

We love Jess Harben, the staff, and the administration. Lots of opportunities to get involved as a parent. Behavioral issues have been addressed swiftly. The teachers are warm and genuinely care for their students.

Wouldn’t recommend. My daughter kept telling me someones son named Kobi kept hitting her and she came home with a scar one day. I kept asking the teacher and principal to have the child removed from my daughters class. They kept telling me they would take further actions on the situation, but it kep...

Horrible experience. Just because the neighborhood is nice and the school is nice does not mean it is open arms to all nationalities.

This is a great neighborhood school! We love the diversity of the families there. The teachers and staff work hard to connect with families of all backgrounds and cultures.
