This school is a really great learning experience, but it is a little rough around the edges. With some work, it could be the school it's meant to be!

i have attended Northside High School since my freshman year and since i have been here i have came to the conclusion that they have certain things they focus on like dress code, bullying, and more. although these are very good topics to focus on, i feel as though we need to make the experiences fun and really focus on getting the seniors countless opportunities for scholarships, colleges, work, and more. pulling kids to the side to talk gpa and volunteer hours would be helpful. Northside does in fact talk to some students but it's only too ten on the gps status and there are more kids just like them trying to make it out of Roanoke. i think a lot of people can agree that just because your not the top 10 student doesn't mean that at least half of the rest of the 500 student shouldn't get the same information spoken to them because how well they know of there opportunities unless told? also adding more activities to the school for seniors and more would make the high school experience.

The best aspects about Northside is that everyone is treated like family. Going to Northside made me feel like I was a part of something special and I never felt left out.

Northside is a great school! I attended Northside for two years - eleventh and twelfth grades- and I loved it. I had the luxury of attending during the renovations, but it only made being there more interesting. I attended three different schools in two different school systems before coming to NHS...
