GreatSchools Rating

GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

As a student at Central High School, located in Coosa County, I would say it was one of the best experiences a child could have. The students can work together on assignments and projects to help each other if they are confused or just do not know what to do. One thing I would like to see changed about Central High School is the attitudes. We have positive attitudes but with the way the world is changing, the bad is starting to outway the good.

There were a variety of clubs and organizations offered here, yet hardly any after school programs.

The teaching is okay, many teacher s are excellent at what they do and can manage their classrooms very well but many cannot, also the teachers overload us with so much tedious work that is not teaching us anything.

All of my children have gone to school in Coosa County. This system is small enough to know every student by name. This type of connection is a plus because staff can focus on the growth of individuality and next steps in the students lives. It's like an additional family.
