Junction Elementary School aims to “develop lifelong learners, one child at a time, in a nurturing and academic community.” This public school, home of the Jaguars, is located in Roseville, and has been operating since 2008. Currently, 750 students attend, ranging from kindergarteners through fifth graders. Students at Junction tend to perform higher on standardized tests than other schools in California, with 62% scoring at or above proficiency in math and reading. In addition to core subjects— math, science, reading, social studies— the school is big on physical education. Each trimester has its own PE curriculum, teaching students skills that extend into their day-to-day lives, such as social responsibility and knowledge of the human body. Junction Elementary cherishes its traditions. These include an annual Fall Carnival, Daughter’s Night Out, Son’s Night Out, and Luau. There are also Family Dine-Outs throughout the year, which occur local restaurants and allow Jaguar families to meet and mingle. Students can become better collaborators and decision-makers through JOLT, Junction’s Outstanding Leadership Team. Parents are encouraged to take part in school-wide decisions, as well, through the Parent Teacher Club (PTC), School Site Council (SSC), and in-classroom volunteer opportunities.

This is our third year at Junction, and fifth year cumulatively when you factor in both kids. We have loved it. Mr Wilke is a fantastic principle, the kids love him. He is very approachable. The traffic circle is set up backwards in my opinion and if they had it run the other way it would encourage...

Junction school is an all around great school for kids and teachers. they have great learning proceedures to follow...Computer classes impressed me a lot, gearing kids for this very fast Hi Tech socieity.
