John Burroughs School is a private college preparatory school serving 660 students in grades seven through 12. The core curriculum encompasses STEM, humanities, health and wellness, the arts, athletics, global awareness, and service and sustainability. All students participate in some aspect of the school’s arts program, which includes drawing, painting, ceramics, printmaking and photography. Beyond-the-classroom experiences round out these academic opportunities to give students unique educational encounters. The school’s 40-acre wilderness camp in the Ozarks, featuring cabins, a lodge, a pavilion, and miles of trails, provides an ideal space for outdoor education programs, biology field research, and service outings. Both at the camp and in the Ladue area, students engage in dozens of service projects throughout the school year in support of the greater St. Louis community.

We have enjoyed our time at John Burroughs School. It has been a very rigorous learning environment for our child while still being balanced enough to keep him engaged in the learning process.

The school is academically rigorous and they Turkey challenge all of their students and ways others schools are not able to. We appreciate the diversity and inclusiveness of the school but they sometimes cross the line in terms of challenging status quo for a reason vs challenging just to make noise. Social equality is arguably the most important factor in society and shouldn't be exploited. Our daughter will be prepared for success in college but there are many life lessons learned through educators or coaches or administrators that we had to teach an alternative view point to at home.

Incredible experience and education. While the academics were challenging and rewarding, more than anything I learned how to be a good person and a lifelong learner. While there are always cliques in schools i found that regardless of interest, everyone for the most part got along. Overall i will cherish my time there and cant wait to send my kids.

All the students and faculty are kind and, as was previously said, you can really "geek out" with anyone from the school. It is a wonderful opportunity to go to this school.
