GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

I mean all in all, for a public high school it is not a bad school. They lack a lot of the necessary funding for certain aspects and there is a group of indviduals that get bussed in from the inner city that can also be a struggle at times. But other than that it is what you make of it. You can take the difficult classes and be very college prepared, or you can coast through and that is up to you. I love the teachers at Oakville, I would say about 80% of them love their job and make the classroom a very fun place to be. Going onto sports, the student section is always really fun, besides this year thus far, and while our football programm is not the best. I know that we do have a good ice hockey, baseball, and soccer program. So the students can go see winning sports programs.

The one thing that I like about Oakville Senior High School is that it had different kind of sports.

I love my school, Oakville High School. But I do see flaws within overall communication. For example, I attend South Technical High School for the majority of my day, which means I miss a lot of information. The information is then not communicated to students like me, making us feel unprepared and out of the know. I believe that if we had stronger communication within the whole school, we would be so much stronger.

Like all high schools, OHS has it's share of pros and cons, but with a recent change in leadership, the culture is trending in a positive direction. There are teachers who will do everything they can to help your student and there are teachers who won't. There are exclusive cliques and there are peo...

please do NOT go to this school. not only the students, but the teachers are out of control as well. My little girl came home crying on multiple occasions because of neglect from her teachers, and the incompetence of her peers as well.
