The St. Michael School of Clayton is a private Christian school taking a unique approach to education for infants through eighth grade students. Each year, the school chooses a hub topic which is integrated into the coursework across all classes throughout the year.
The school encourages exploration with a focus on critical thinking, and coursework is reinforced through learning journeys to popular destinations in the area including Shaw Nature Reserve, downtown St. Louis and Cahokia Mounds.
The education also extends to nearby Forest Park, where students regularly ride provided bicycles to participate in physical education class. A community-based approach is infused throughout the programming with older and younger students working together, providing mentorship to children in early grades.
Studio Art, Spanish, music and physical education are woven into weekly curriculum for pre-kindergarten and kindergarten students. Core curriculum for first through sixth grade classes are centered around a workshop model, with classrooms designed in suites allowing teachers to work in teams.
Seventh and eighth grade classes are small, providing personalized attention and preparing students to attend the top high schools in the St. Louis area. Students at The St. Michael School will leave with a sense of community through their experiences with each other and exploration of the city.

BEWARE! The nepotism here is apparent. "Teachers" with no experience or background are hired to fill postions. The cost is extreme for what is provided, especially in the Early Childhood program.

Extraordinary. Thank God for this school. My children thrived at this school and are successful because of this loving environment.
