I was a student at Thomas Jefferson from 7th to 12th grade. The community helped shape me into who I am today and prepared me for a productive college experience.

My son attended Thomas Jefferson School from 7th - 12th grades. It was the perfect mix of rigorous, challenging curriculum with a nurturing environment where he felt safe to try new things including basketball, soccer, dance, animation and robotics. It was also amazing for him to grow up in a diverse an international community.

TJ prepared me for college & graduate school very well. However, I do have one complaint. TJ's incredibly rigorous college preparation stifled my creativity. Before entering TJ, I was a creative artist. All that dropped away because all my time was devoted to academic pursuits. However, on the plus side, I can write very well. Not just for academic purposes in college & grad school, but for pleasure & hobbies. That skill, gained at TJ, has accompanied me for my entire life.

This school is an exceptional place for an exceptionally smart student. There's nowhere else like it. The fall is focused on theater and great books, not football and homecoming kings and queens.

Unless you lowered your standards or made friends online, you will most likely not have any friends at all, only classmates/acquaintances you know and go to the mall with. The languages offered are ridiculous: Greek, Latin, Italian, and French. Those are fancy, yes, b...

I am so glad we sent my son here, this is his 5th year at TJ. The learning environment is first rate, though it is a very hard school academically. I think one of the best attributes of the school is that it teaches the students how to learn and think on their own, and how to be organized, it really...

Thomas Jefferson is a community of learners and a community where family is developed among all constituents. Speaking and writing with clarity are guideposts for each student.
