The best part of this school is how close and well known everyone is with everyone. Due to it being a small town school it's both a blessing and a curse because if you're new you'll be the gossip of the year.

Salem Community Schools is a clown institutions ran by people that basically most of whom are from Salem or have some links to the area and have known each other their entire lives. The various school boards over years have been a total joke and an embarrassment. Sadly I graduated from this school and later had my child in this school system before moving on elsewhere. Not only did I attend this school for 13 years including K-12 but also graduated college from Indiana University with a Bachelor's and later an MBA. I chose to return to Salem to tend to family matters and lived here for several years as and adult. I wouldn't recommend these days sending my kid or kids to Salem Community Schools much less live in the local community. Nepotism is rife here and having a family name will get you everywhere even if you're not qualified like most of the school administration. Not to Salem Schools got sued for 350,000 due to an illegal termination and the administrator who done it was't fired

I loved how 1v1 it was with the students and teachers. It was so nice have such a small student number because you always got to participate and get to know everyone.
