GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Throughout all my years attending North, I have noticed that we school trying to be more diverse, and we are constantly trying to get more people attendance up.

Generally there is not a very high percent of kids who participate in extracurriculars or have school spirit. But you have the same kids doing lots and lots of different things. Some teachers are really amazing and deserve a lot higher pay for all that they do. They are mentors, stable adults, coaches, and friends. While other teachers don't understand everything that a student at NSHS goes through daily.

My overall experience at North Salem HIgh School has been good my four years here, but until there was a change in principals there was a lack of communication between teachers, administrators, and parents. There is a wide range of classes we can choose from but the curriculum in the classes arent the best. I would like to see more college level classes available and I would also like to see more maintenance done on the school.

The library is incredibly student friendly, and teachers are unusually available for their students. The biggest hurdle our students have is the idea some famili...

Our Band Music Program is one of the best that I know of, and it's one that will never fall. Our teachers are good at challenging us while helping us think through the problems step by step. This is a school I recommend for the band program and challenging teachers.
