Cable Elementary School is a part of the Northside Independent School District. Serving approximately 102,000 students, the district is the largest school system in south Texas. With a student body of approximately 488 and a student-to-teacher ratio of 12-to-1, which is well below the national average, Cable serves children in pre-kindergarten through fifth grade. This campus takes part in the district’s Dual Language Program, which is a dual language immersion two-way bilingual program model that is research-based. This dual language model seeks to create bilingual, biliterate and bicultural students by developing their academic proficiency in English and Spanish. The campus also teaches English as a Second Language to students who speak a language other than English or Spanish. Cable Elementary offers a comprehensive curriculum with courses in art, music, science and mathematics. In addition to the formal course offerings, Cable also has a number of extracurricular programs. Students can take part in student council, strings and choir, bear cub book time, science, technology, engineering and mathematics clubs, just to name a few.
