With a student body of approximately 1,000 and a student-to-teacher ratio of 13-to-1, which is below the national average, Jones Middle School serves pupils in sixth through eighth grades. The school takes part in the district's English Language Arts Program which is designed to develop lifelong literacy and critical thinking skills in all students. Jones offers a comprehensive curriculum with courses in science, social studies, world languages and mathematics. This campus also teaches English as a Second Language to students who speak a language other than English or Spanish.
Alongside the standard curriculum, Jones has a career and technical education program which dovetails with some of the magnet school’s advanced curriculum. The magnet school is available to all district students entering fifth grade through an application process. Smaller class sizes make acceptance to the magnet program very competitive so early application submission is required.
Jones Middle School also takes part in the district physical education program in order to encourage its students to make healthy choices in their everyday lives.
