Mary Hull Elementary School is a part of the Northside Independent School District. Serving approximately 102,000 students, the district is the largest school system in south Texas. With a student body of approximately 426 and a student-to-teacher ratio of 11-to-1, which is well below the national average, Hull serves children in pre-kindergarten through fifth grade. This campus takes part in the district’s Dual Language Program, a dual language immersion two-way bilingual program model that is research-based. This dual language model seeks to create bilingual, biliterate and bicultural students by developing their academic proficiency in English and Spanish. A specialized program at Hull focuses on the English language arts through their literacy department. Using highly trained literacy leaders, the program strives to help students struggling with dyslexia as well as those reading and comprehending below grade level. The school offers a comprehensive curriculum with courses in art, music, science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Qualified students can also take advantage of a Gifted and Talented Program. In an effort to promote a mindset of lifelong wellness, Hull uses both SPARK and CATCH curriculum in their physical education program. In addition to the formal course offerings, Hull also has a number of extracurricular programs. Students can take part in a solar cars club, a robotics club and a Lego club, just to name a few.
