Built in the early 1950s, Florence Elementary services San Diego's Hillcrest neighborhood, offering classes for kids in kindergarten through fifth grade.
The school's facilities have seen a number of upgrades throughout the years, including new security doors installed in the main building as well as comprehensive air conditioning installed in 2018. The faculty also plans to put up exterior fencing around the facilities in spring of 2022. In addition to practical upgrades, the school also facilitates a positive learning environment by posting inspirational messages and colorful posters throughout the campus.
Florence Elementary is located in the heart of Hillcrest and is easily accessible through State Route 163 and Interstate 5. Both my children attended Florence and they had an amazing elementary education. The teachers were attentive, patient, caring, and most importantly focus on their learning needs. I am forever grateful to the school staff for preparing my children for middle school.
