It wasn't a *bad* middle school experience. I met cool people and had some great teachers. But it was also a weird environment where many people did not have the same goals or experiences and it led to a conflict of interests.

This school was okay, although a lot of academic pressure can make students feel like they're drowning. The teachers aren't approachable, and the "zero tolerance bullying" rule means that teachers turn a blind eye towards actual bullying, but are quick to punish a student defending themselves for once. If teachers were a bit more welcoming and the school did something about bullying, Mesa Verde would be great. Also, they stress dress code, but most of the P.E. uniforms violate dress code for girls.

I am very disappointed at MVMS. This school is ok in until you have a problem and you need some help. Staff doesn't care and counselors are not helpful.Avoid this school if you can.

Great teachers. Admin lack judgement and proper communication with parents when incidences have arisen. Over react to small stuff and do nothing but pass the buck when they fail. We had a child there 8 years ago and the admin was stellar. Hoping the new principal next year can turn things around.
