St. Augustine High School is one of San Diego’s top private institutions. The all-male Catholic academy is located in the center of North Park and has been up and running since 1922. Referred to as “Saints,” the school prides itself on offering more than just an academic education. The Saints Experience promotes a love of learning through rigorous academic, artistic and athletic programs, all in a close-knit and supportive environment for high school students in ninth through twelfth grades. With a liberal arts curriculum, Saints prepares students for bright futures in college, teaching kids to integrate knowledge into a coherent view of the world. The school has an enrollment of approximately 700 young men from the greater San Diego and Tijuana area with a rich and diverse mix. Many students travel long distances each day to attend the school. At Saints, class size is kept to around 25 students and courses are considered rigorous. Throughout their time there, students must take 4 years of religion, along with a well-balanced mix of subjects including math, lab science, world language and English. The school offers 19 AP classes and 7 Honors courses to its students. On top of academics and service, Saints offers its students opportunities to explore sports and the creative arts. Students can participate in an array of athletics from football and basketball to wrestling, cross country and surfing. The school is also recognized as a chapter of the International Thespian Society and puts on numerous theatrical programs throughout the year. A diverse offering of classes and a central location in North Park makes Saints a top pick for many locals.

I am gratedul to have spent 4 years here. This is an excellent school- from the academics, to the campus culture, to the sports and the performing arts. Of course there is a person here or there (an occasional coach or student) who does not embody the values of this school, though the vast majority here do- "Unitas, Veritas, Caritas."

I thoroughly enjoyed my four years at St. Augustine High School, and I have many friends who similarly excelled in the environment provided. The teachers care immensely for students and their academic success, and they are always free to offer help to struggling students. There were not many negatives that I experienced in my four years. A few misbehaving students here and there, but the integrity of the school was never harmed.

I loved my experience at this school. I have felt so welcomed and everyone is so nice. It brings an element of family to school that I do not believe many other places have. I wish there were more honors classes though, as my GPA is lower because of that.

I graduated from SAINTS in 1955, that is 65 years ago. All of us held our teachers as Gods. They really cared about all of us and prepared us for life in many ways. To this day I still refer back to rules and formulas I learned at SAINTS. God has been very good to me and SAINTS was the BEST teacher...

Having a son who is a senior this year and another as a freshman this year, I can not say ENOUGH about this school! Saints has been everything and so much more than we hoped for our sons. It truly takes your sons and shapes them into fine young gentlemen! Our boys are both so happy here and say they...

This is the only private school to send a boy to in San Diego. the Students are a true family, the academics are top notch and the extra curricular activities are some of the best around. Also, the sports programs are some of the best.
