Overall, Sherwood is a pretty inclusive place. I don't feel like I am going to be discriminated against when I walk in every morning which is always good. The security guards don't do anything and the facility needs updating. There is not adequate climate control, it is extremely hot or cold all the time with no regulation. The building is falling apart and there is always some building service truck at Sherwood. But I will say, there is a strong sense of community within my school. We come together through sports and the arts. We support each other and there will never be a time that the bleachers or stadium will be totally empty because there is always at least a handful of people who are there to cheer on Sherwood students in their endeavors. The teachers make an effort to get to know their students and I feel go above and beyond. I feel respected and heard at school every day, and I know that the staff are there to help me in whatever aspects I may need assistance.

In the 1950s and 60s I was living with my parents and brother John on Willow Spring Farm, on Tucker Lane ...and attended nursery, elementary and high school at Sherwood. Those were wonderful years...and I was devastated when my father accepted a promotion to company HQ in New York City, and we were...

My child started high school this year and is in special education and has an IEP. The administration staff are unresponsive and ignore emails from parents. The only school in MCPS that continues to hold virtual IEP meetings. He was put in a Math 180 intervention but there was only one teacher train...

Most teachers are burned out or shouldn’t be teaching. Front end admin assistants are consistently rude and remind me of the women I avoid in my personal life. One administrator is condescending, rude, unsupportive and refuses to collaborate with parents. Majority of teachers are pretty caring and a...
