Pretty nice school but there are definitely not many opportunities for students to be challenged just because of how small the school is.

I went here until senior year. Now I'm in Syracuse at Henninger High School. I really miss Saranac Lake. It was incredible, I always felt safe, the teachers are incredible, and the students are genuinely good kids. Probably one of the best high schools in the state. Best Music Program in the state for sure.

SLHS has some amazing teachers and the administration generally actually cares BUT the students and whole community is very judging and close-minded. Everyone has known each other since birth and shun new students. The administration and teachers can also be very ignorant about disability accommodations. Honestly I hated transferring into this school and it is not a fond memory.

Graduated as part of the class of 2024, and I just would like to say that this school district is absolutely abhorrent; the staff treat the students like they are nothing more than garbage on the side of the road that nobody wants to clean up.
