GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Scio High School has a good and supporting community, but it does not have the best opportunities. It is a small community so not everything that people want is possible.

The teachers and faculty genuinely care about every student. The actual rigor and coursework is severely lacking and doesn't prepare students for higher education.

small classroom environment, access to all sports. I wish there was more focus on continuing education after high school with more direction regarding colleges and future possibilities.

The administration and staff are very kind and approachable. My son loves that he can take forestry and wood shop in addition to the standard academics. It’s a great school and great community. Also, I’d note that when we hosted our exchange student from Spain for a school year where he attended Sci...

Football is a top priority at this school, and bullying is a Major problem. Academics are not pushed, teachers don't teach, homework is just expected to be turned in without explanation or learning concepts. If you're not related to someone at the school or a previous student, then communication is...

This school is great. Academic, athletic, leadership and art programs are ALL strongly supported by the community and staff. With such a small school, the teachers and principal are able to make connections with students and help them out more often. The opportunities available here, if taken, can g...

There is lots of bullying and a principal that doesn't do anything about it, very unfriendly office staff, and their priority is Football. There are some good teachers, but overall a place I don't want my daughter to be.
