GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Class of 2023, was a great experience, didn't have any friends moving in as I had just moved to the area, but made some in about a month, though it could definitely be hard for others as most people know each other from elementary school. The classes are all really easy, you can do no homework and scrape by with a B-A-, teachers are hit and miss teachers like Mrs. Mosco and Mr. Ohashi are examples of great ones, but there are many bad ones. The culture is a bit cliquey, but most people are chill. You don't really see any drugs, just the occasional vape, the kids swore a lot and are on their phones in class, some teachers care others don't. The attire for some of the girls is questionable, booty shorts and crop tops are common, I don't really think middle schoolers should wear that but... School is very liberal, no racism or homophobia or whatever, if anything it's the other way around. Sports are cool and fun, I really enjoyed them.

The school is very academically strong, the band program is a standout, test scores are among the highest in the state. Kids can walk to several local businesses for after school hangouts, the area is beautifu...

Eckstein is a HUGE school, so it may be physically overwhelming for some students. The middle school years are complicated, with some students not emotionally m...

For a big, urban middle school, it's ok. There are lots of programs and sports and pockets of academic excellence. But if you get a mediocre teacher, or one who doesn't like your kid, you have to do a lot of your own teaching.
