I love the people I have met at Shady Spring High School; teachers and students are so welcoming and caring. The campus is beautiful and nicely kept and the education was very engaging. However, I didn't have good experiences with the counselors. It often took a long time to get a reply, and every time I spoke to them, they didn't make me feel very welcomed.

Some of the teachers at Shady are incredible, some not so much. The ones that are good care so deeply about their students and its amazing to see. However, there are some that simply don't do their job. As for the counselors, they are not so good and this definitely needs to change in the future. Shady needs to focus on the well-being of their students and provide resources and an all around experience that is catered to their future, including equal treatment and access as their peers.

Students need counselors. I was not informed about any scholarship or grant opportunities. We were not taken on field trips to check out colleges. Lack of opportunities. Many Students are rude and disrespectful to teachers. This makes it difficult for students who actually want to learn. It's disheartening and frustrating that faculty has no control over students and students know it. I was sad and depressed at this school and hope college is better.

My daughter started being bullied at the Shady Spring Middle School and it continued on at the High School. The answer was to ostracize my daughter and put her on homebound where she had no interaction with others of her age. The bullies got to stay in school and participate in sports and all the sc...
