Being at Huntington taught me a lot about family. As an incoming freshman, I was a rather new face to this school. I was from out of the city and didn't know many people at the time. I often refer to my freshman year as my golden year. That's when I connected with many of the teachers I hold dear today. They pushed me hard in academics, made sure I missed out on little to none outside opportunities and mentored me honestly when I needed it. Huntington has one of the greatest dual enrollment programs in Shreveport. College courses are thorough and well prepped. I don't think I'd be as great as I am now without the Huntington experience. Rasberry lane was and is the best place to be.

There is a new principal and new staff members who are working hard to turn this school around. It's happening slowly but surely. Being part of the staff I seen...

Child who doesn't live with us has NUMEROUS (38) unexcused absences, has at least 5 discipline records and is failing 5 or more classes and her father is being told she will still move on to the next grade.

Fights everyday, teachers don't care, you can pass this school just for bringing a pencil honestly. They just don't care what you do.
