I went to quite a small high school in a conservative town in Nebraska. The entirety of my 7-12 experience, I felt out of place surrounded my small minded people. The positive part of this however was the availability of specific academic help from teachers as everyone knew everyone very well because of the small class sizes.

I think my experience is a positive one. My son has the opportunity to learn in a safe environment with teachers willing to be creative and fun. He played the clarinet, throws shot and is the vice president of the FFA. He has always been supported and encouraged to try new things. The only change I would like to see is for the teachers to value trade professions as much as those requiring years of continuing education.

The teachers were what I liked most about Sidney High School. Every teacher that I had was 100% invested in all their students. I don't think that all high school students are so lucky. But honestly, every teacher really made me feel like they actually cared about me and how my life was going turn out.

A I a former student of Sidney Public Schools and I HIGHLY recommend that if you are thinking about going there that you find a different school district. The teachers don't do anything besides scream at the students when they don't do what they are supposed to and when you ask questions. The studen...
