As part of the Denver Public School system, Southmoor Elementary School, home of the mighty moose, is one of several educational institutions near the Hampden neighborhood. The school prides itself in creating a culture of students who are curious, creative, kind, and contributing citizens.
Aside from meaningful general education classes, every child at Southmoor participates in an enrichment program that includes either music, physical fitness, or art. The school’s enhanced iReady and ReflexMath online programs are two of its best assets. Before and after school curricula are also available.
Students have the opportunity to partake in extracurricular activities from sports to festivities and creativity to outdoor free time. Parents, teachers, and school leaders are all encouraged to take part in their child’s daily education via numerous volunteer opportunities.
Safety, education, social & emotional enrichment, and the physical needs of each student is a daily priority at the school. At Southmoor, all students, kindergarten through fifth grades, are given various opportunities to learn and grow.
