GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Staunton River is, to no fault of its own, decrepit. The staff members truly do try, but there is only so much they can do in a district that does not care for our school.

It's a high school. It has teachers. It has students. It has tests. This is submitted only for the contest. Anything else written here is just to get to the 100 word limit this form wants.

The time I have been at Staunton River has been wonderful. I have met great people and had great teachers. However, there are problems. Along with Staunton River, I am a student at Roanoke Valley Governor's School, and Staunton River does not do a very good job of recognizing us students. If there is not going to be us, we are the last to know about it. We have also changed to a new schedule, which creates severe disadvantages for Gov School students. In the future, it would be nice to see Gov School students have more recognition.

School and district are run by a number of inept and sexist people. They refuse to follow state and federal law and harass students and parents who try to get them to do their jobs.

Horrible from day one and extremely mediocre in all ways and forms. Worst of the worst education given, no accountability from anyone, discrimination to the fullest, people who work here only care for their paycheck not here for the right reasons. Concerns and complaints always have an excuse lack o...

We love SRHS! We feel our children are being well taken care of. Because it is a smaller school, you don't get lost.

I attended this school for my sophomore and freshman year and I will say I enjoyed my time being there. Most students are welcoming if you come as a new student and have respect towards each other. There are some great programs at the school such as all sports, theater, Foreign Language, and Art. I...
