The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

So far at Sherando High School, my experience has been fairly average. The teachers and staff at the school are amazing; they'll always help you when you need it and will do so without making you feel inferior. Many classes and programs are offered, but so far, I don't feel as though college preparedness is a major concern, at least in terms of study habits and work load. On the other hand, the office and guidance are always open to chat about any struggles you may be having. The dual enrollment specialist and AP coach have been especially useful. However, the facilities are not the best. The bathrooms are often out of order and there is a strict bathroom policy that makes it very difficult to actually use it. About one fourth of all classes are held in the trailers. Vaping is also a problem that is trying to be controlled, but whatever efforts have been made have not been effective yet. Overall, Sherando has flaws, but is very supportive of whatever goals you have for yourself.

Sherando is a very basic high school with there diversity but most students don't get involved in clubs or sports due to coches or teacher as they either make them feel bad for asking questions or don't support groups of students.

My experience has been very well and I have connected with lots of new people. The teachers at my school have helped me very well and I have felt very connected with them. Some of my best parts is forming new relationships with new students and being able to work and collaborate with them. Some of my worst parts is how some faculty tend to pick favorites and want to see other students achieve more than others. I would like to see a change in how some faculty treat students. They should treat them all equally and not single certain ones out.

Horrible school. When I went to school here it was the worst time ever. They do not care at all about children being bullied and was such a toxic environment. The super intendants in the area are even worse. Luckily I had a great college experience after with supportive staff and professors.
