I would like to see more effort towards expanding kids involvement in a growing community. Too often I see kids from low income areas eating time and energy making bad decisions and I think there isn't enough resources going towards making those kids be redirected into a better future. It doesn't take much but in many case scenarios our school spends more time criminalising and punishing bad behaviour rather than redirecting.

Swansboro has improved over the past couple of years but at the root we are still a pretty poor school with teachers who are trying their hardest to receive less than the bare minimum in return. Over the past 4 years I personally have had 8 teachers either leave teaching or leave the district for better. It is unfortunate but our teachers are suffering and our admin do the best they can but our district and state is failing our teachers and our education is suffering for it.

Over the last 4 years of attending Swansboro high, I have experienced so many different interactions. Some good and some not such as good. But yet this school has set me up so i can be successful enough for college and my career after.

The administration doesn’t change anything, even if parents team up and address issues. It’s treated as if they provide lip service and continue to do whatever they want.
