Opened next door to John J. Curry Elementary in 1972, Connolly Middle School is a public school serving about 1,000 students in sixth through eighth grade in the Tempe School District.
As an A+ School of Excellence and one of the district’s National AVID Demonstration Schools, Connolly embraces a mission to prepare all of its students for college and work in the 21st century. Through AVID, which stands for Advancement Via Individual Determination, Connolly students can participate in weekly team-building activities and occasional field trips to colleges and universities, among other career-focused opportunities.
Outside of a core curriculum, students can gain fitness in physical education, take the stage in theater or dance, or explore music in band, orchestra, choir, mariachi, piano, or guitar. Active Connolly Crusaders also can compete in a field of interscholastic seasonal sports, including baseball, basketball, coed cross country, coed flag football, coed soccer, softball, spiritline, and volleyball.
When it comes to school clubs, students can build leadership skills in student council and National Junior Honor Society, or capture their memories for a lifetime via Yearbook Club. And through an after-school care program students also can work on STEM projects, dabble in arts or cooking classes, or dedicate time to homework, among other activities — to make the most of every day at Connolly Middle School.

Sexual abuse, harassment, physical abuse/assault. Staff playing favorites... Students never removed from school, harassment continued til last day of school. So glad I moved my child out of this school. She's safe, she's learning, she's relaxed, she can be her self. This should happen to No Child!!

There are better examples of schools that are more well rounded, educated and student-focused in Tempe. I would not suggest this school to anyone that cares for their child.
